Each year The Pewitt Education Foundation awards grants to teachers in Pewitt High School, Pewitt Junior High, and Pewitt Elementary Schools. Grant funds come from community and alumni fundraisers conducted by the Education Foundation and by the Pewitt Alumni Association.

Since the original donor fund drive in 2001, members of the Pewitt Education Foundation have believed that its grants to Pewitt teachers and classrooms are inteded to encourage all students to work to their highest potential; to support staff for innovative effort; to recognize staff for exemplary teaching; to build community awareness for the Pewitt CISD Education Foundation; and to inspire parents and community to participate with the school district in enriching education.
